One of the key 2026 calls to boost public-private collaboration in R&D&I has opened

300 million euros for projects with results close to the market

The call, managed by the State Research Agency, has a total budget of 300 million euros and will remain open until January 30, 2026.

The objective is to finance innovative experimental development projects, with a clear focus on applicable results and the capacity to generate economic and technological impact in the short and medium term.

What types of projects are being sought

The grants are aimed at initiatives that allow for:

  • validate and develop new technologies, products and services,
  • foster real collaboration between companies and research agents,
  • mobilize private investment and generate skilled employment,
  • improve the country’s competitiveness and technological balance.

These are projects that go beyond the purely investigative phase and are positioned at intermediate technological readiness levels, where market transfer begins to be tangible.

Who can participate

  • companies,
  • public and private universities,
  • “public research organizations,
  • technology centers and R&D&I centers,
  • health research institutes,
  • sectoral business associations.

This makes it an especially relevant opportunity for entities that already have R&D results and are looking to make the leap toward real and scalable applications.
